John Muir was instrumental in establishing the world’s first National Parks system in America in the early 1900s (the first Park came earlier). A global family of 6,555 protected National Park areas now covers 12% of the Earth’s surface. Enjoy Muir’s legacy in the UK today by visiting a National Park near you.
