The Edinburgh Members' Group has three speakers lined up to discuss - and invite questions about - Land Reform.

Andrew Thin, Chair of the Scottish Land Commission will speak about the role of the commission which came into being on 1 April 2017 having been established under the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2016.

Dr Graham Pyatt is writing a book entitled the Nature of Manor about the Manor Valley near Peebles. His talk will discuss the valley in relation to ecosystem services and deliberate on the issues of muir burn, flooding and grazing.

Dr Liz Auty, the John Muir Trust’s East Schiehallion Property Manager, will speak about the recently launched Heart of Scotland Forest Partnership which is made up of six partner organizations, working together to connect woodlands across Highland Perthshire. The shared vision is of a restored and vibrant landscape that provides opportunities for wildlife to thrive, for local employment and for people to enjoy.

We will stop for a tea break after the presentations to give you the chance to browse stalls and pick up Christmas cards and gifts. Following this the speakers will take part in a panel discussion, where you can ask questions and get involved in the discussion.
