Looking to do some conservation work this year? Join members as they carry out various tasks to improve the ecology of the local area. If you'd like to find out more about any of the conservation work parties listed below, please contact NEScotland@johnmuirtrust.org

Local Members' Gathering

Andrew Bachell, Chief Executive of the John Muir Trust, will join the North East Scotland Members’ Group to discuss: 

“Wildness and nature - The challenge for public policy and private practice”

All are welcome to come along to meet local members and staff from the John Muir Trust. Share your views and get involved. You can also buy festive cards and goodies in time for Christmas!

Work parties

2017 Glen Tanar work parties | Next date: 21 October

Help Eric Baird, head ranger of the beautiful Glen Tanar estate, with two possible projects (weather dependant):

1. Clearing weeds and debris in the Fairy Lochan and removing invasive trees around the perimeter of the lochan;
2. Removing the remaining section of a very corroded deer fence which the volunteer group started two years ago.

Please get in touch with James Brownhill (work party coordinator) as soon as possible if you'd like to attend.

Future Glen Tanar work party dates: 18 November / 9 December

Saturday 28 October: Work still to be defined

Please note that places will be filled on a “first come, first served” basis so if you are wishing to attend please get in touch as soon as possible.

As with all work parties please remember to bring weather appropriate clothes and footwear as well as plenty of food and water.
