Dive into Scotland’s Year of Coasts and Waters 2020

New partnership encourages educators, learners, families and individuals to get involved with Scotland’s wild waters

Year of Coasts and Waters 2020The new themed Year of Coasts and Waters 2020 is an opportunity to highlight the nature, history and culture of Scotland’s lochs and rivers, its shorelines and waterways.

Coasts and waters are places to feel good, be healthy, be curious, be inspired and be creative. They are places where we can think about, and act on, bigger picture matters too - such as biodiversity, sustainability, climate, and our place in the world.

To help schools, youth and community groups participate in the theme, a partnership of organisations (FSC Scotland, Scottish Seabird Centre, Glasgow Science Centre, Historic Environment Scotland, the Cairngorms National Park and the John Muir Trust) has collaborated to celebrate the potential of Scotland’s Coasts and Waters for learning, for adventure, and for their aesthetic inspiration.

We will be sharing stories of how people make connections with Scotland’s Coasts and Waters during 2020 as the year progresses.
