Glendye wind farmPublished: 13th November 2018
The Trust has submitted an objection to a proposed 26-turbine wind farm on the Fasque and Glendye Estates, approx. 2km from Fettercairn
The Trust considers that the impact of the 149.9m high turbines and associated infrastructure is inappropriate to the landscape of the area, will have a detrimental visual impact on the Cairngorm National Park, will have a detrimental impact on the peat on site and may have a negative socio economic impact on tourism.
Update 22 January 2019:- Following a recommendation by Aberdeenshire Council officers, Kincardine & Mearns Area Committee agreed that the application be referred to the Infrastructure Services Committee with a recommendation to object.
Update 27 March 2019:- the Infrastructure Services Committee has supported the recommendation to object to the application “in the strongest possible terms” – representation will now be made to the Scottish Government, as the determining authority.
