Trust’s 'Glenlude Experience' returns to film festival
Special free event at Peebles Outdoor Film Festival offers a taste of modern nature conservation at Trust-managed estate in the Borders
Visitors to the Peebles Outdoor Film Festival (POFF) later this month will be offered the chance to get a first-hand insight into the work of the Trust at nearby Glenlude.
Since taking over ownership of Glenlude in 2010, we have worked with volunteers, schools, local groups and charities to gradually replace non-native commercial forestry plantations with native species.
The Glenlude Experience - a free walk-and-talk led by our land manager Karen Purvis - will take place on Sunday 27 January from 10am to 12noon. It will give an insight into how we are gradually rewilding a once depleted landscape on the edge of the Southern Uplands into a mosaic of flourishing native habitats. The Trust is proud to support the Peebles Outdoor Film Festival (at Eastgate Theatre, 25-27 January 2019) for the fourth year running.
