Trust response to Scottish Parliament's Call for Views on NPF4

The draft fourth National Planning Framework (NPF4) has been published and was laid in the Scottish Parliament on 10 November 2021. From that date, Parliament has 120 day to report on the framework. Within this timeframe, several Committees will be scrutinising the draft document and reporting to Parliament. To aid the scrutiny process, these committees issued a joint call for views. The Trust's response to the Call for Views has been submitted and is available to download below.

In terms of next steps:

We expect the Parliamentary Committees to take oral evidence in February and March 2022 before reporting to Parliament.

The public consultation on the draft NPF4, which is being managed by the Scottish Government, is open until 31 March 2022. We encourage individuals to share their views!

At the close of the 120 day period, the Scottish Government must lay a draft NPF4 before Parliament for approval by resolution. This draft must be accompanied by an explanatory document, which must set out any changes made in response to the consulatation or why changes have not been made.
