Trust response to Barrisdale track application

It is with regret that the Trust submitted an objection to the application for an access track between Barrisdale Estate and Loch Quoich. The Trust owns land neighbouring the estate on which the track would be sited and has engaged with the landowner to discuss our concerns. We welcome the landowner’s willingness to engage. However, our concerns regarding the impact the track would have on the Kinlochhourn - Knoydart - Morar Wild Land Area (one of Scotland’s finest examples of wild land) remain and so we felt we must object on the basis of our charitable objectives.

Our specific concerns are detailed in our objection which is available to download below.

UPDATE: On 6 March 2023 the Trust were notified that the Highland Council had decided not to support the application for an access track between Barrisdale Estate and Loch Quoich.
