Trust launches a month of Wild Words
Throughout October, a month-long celebration of words that connect us to nature.
Throughout October, the Trust will be celebrating words and language that helps connect people with landscapes, nature and wild places. We're calling it Wild Words.
We'll share wild poems that shed light and nature prose that inspires, as well as hosting a number of Wild Word events; in Keswick, Fort William and Pitlochry.
Today, we're launching with this evocative piece from Jen Benson, entitled Counterflow, extracted with permission from the brilliant Waymaking anthology from Vertebrate Publishing - who also kindly donate profits from this book to the Trust.

"The brook is clear and peat-dark, like fine black tea. Now still and deep, collecting in round, brown pools; now flowing fast and foaming, skimming over granite-grey rocks and spinning wide, white veils as it falls." (Read on...)
