Philanthropy and major giving have the power to transform the future of the UK’s wild places.

The John Muir Trust is the UK charity dedicated to the protection of wild places. Through our work we protect and restore wild landscapes, stand up for them through policy and advocacy, and help people experience and care for these extraordinary places.

Your generosity helps ensure wild places can thrive – now and for generations to come.

Your philanthropy helps:

Land management

We care for wild places through conservation and restoration projects across our land, including native woodland regeneration, peatland restoration, deer management, biodiversity monitoring and the removal of invasive non-native species.

Community engagement

We help people of all backgrounds connect with and care for wild places, from volunteers on our land to participants in the John Muir Award.

Policy and advocacy

We stand up for wild places by influencing planning decisions and shaping policy at all levels of government.

The Corbett Club

By joining the Corbett Club, you’ll become part of a dedicated group of supporters who care deeply about wild places across the UK - such as Skye and Knoydart.

Your commitment will provide essential support for conservation work on the ground, help us stand up for wild places under threat, and create opportunities for more people to experience and care for these extraordinary landscapes.

Our commitment to you

Your gift will play a vital role in protecting and restoring the UK’s wild places. In return we promise to:

  • Ensure your gift has the greatest possible impact
  • Provide you with a dedicated member of our team to support your journey with the John Muir Trust
  • Share regular updates so you can see the difference your support is making to wild places in our care
  • Welcome you to special events where you can connect with fellow supporters who share your passion for wild places.

Munro Club

People who have made an exceptional, lifelong commitment to the Trust - whose lifetime giving exceeds £30,000 - are warmly invited to join our Munro Club, with additional opportunities to engage with the wild places they are helping to protect.

Munro Club members receive all Corbett Club benefits, plus: invitations to see our properties and work in action and a one-to-one meeting with a member of our team on the ground.

Other ways to make a major gift

Our Corbett and Munro Clubs offer a simple way to provide ongoing, unrestricted support to the Trust. However, many supporters choose to give in different ways. If you’d like to explore funding a specific project or discuss how your philanthropy could make the greatest impact, please contact our Major Donors Fundraiser, Liv Adams.

What our major donors say:

The Ben Nevis area holds a lifetime of memories for me, and I feel privileged to help the Trust safeguard it for future generations.

- John Young

Supporting the Trust feels like a meaningful way to give back to the wild places that bring me so much joy and peace.

- Goff Cantley

As wild places become rarer, I’ve come to see their preservation as one of the most important challenges of our time. The John Muir Trust stands at the heart of that mission and I feel privileged to support its work in caring for the landscapes that mean so much to me.

- Mike Crompton

We were delighted to be able to support [the Trust's] activity closer to home in Glenlude, especially as it has the potential to expose many people to both the beauty of wild places and the value of their restoration.
