Thirlmere volunteer days
As part of the Thirlmere Resilience Project, we are running monthly volunteer days in the heart of the Lake District National Park at Thirlmere, 9.30am - 4pm. Get involved here.
20 September – non native regen removal (brash hedging)
11 October – non native regen removal (brash hedging)
28 October – tree planting
14 November – tree planting
28 November – tree planting
12 December – tree planting
Note: The proposed tasks may change if the weather isn't favourable.
Bring: A packed lunch/snack, waterproofs, warm clothes, good sturdy shoes/boots.

- The Thirlmere Resilience Project - to create a more dynamic biodiverse catchment with native woodland and peatland restoration to achieve better raw water quality - is a partnership between John Muir Trust and United Utilities, Cumbria Wildlife Trust, Natural England, West Cumbria Rivers Trust and the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology at Lancaster University.
