Nevis 25: a celebration
On 21 June 2025 the John Muir Trust celebrates 25 years of caring for Nevis.
As the highest mountain in the UK, Ben Nevis is a natural source of inspiration to many. A place of adventure and achievement, spectacular beauty and rare wildlife, it’s somewhere that leaves visitors with a true sense of wildness. But the appeal of Nevis is much more than the peak – it’s the rocky slopes, the crags that provide a home to rare Alpine plants, the plunging waterfall at Steall, and the vibrant native woodlands that edge the river.
There are so many ways to get involved in our Nevis 25 celebrations:
- Donate to our Nevis 25 Appeal
- Share your 'My Nevis' memories of the mountain
- Grab one of our Celebrate Ben Nevis T-shirts for men and women.

Our vision for Nevis...
...is of flourishing native woodlands, heathlands and uplands; a place where nature is given free rein to develop a natural mosaic of wild landscapes and habitats that lock in carbon; where people are welcome but their impact on the landscape is minimal, and the mountain and its diverse plants, insects and wildlife are protected and valued for generations to come.
