John Muir Trust Board welcomes new Trustees
Following the Trust's Annual General Meeting on Saturday 4 November 2023 we are pleased to introduce the latest Trustees.
There were four valid nominations for five vacancies, so no election was held. Mark Held and Carol White join our Board of Trustees, while Jane Smallman and Hermione Lamond were reappointed to the Board. In addition, we have co-opted two Trustees with specialist skills. Eelco de Jong joins us for one year, as our ecology and natural heritage specialist and Damian Aubrey joins us as our planning procedures and regulations specialist for one year.
Our Trustees help to shape the work of the Trust and contribute their skills and knowledge to areas of work from conservation and lobbying government to financial management. The Board of Trustees needs a wide range of skills that complement existing Trustees, including community engagement, land management, fundraising and public policy development. We very much look forward to the experience our newly elected Trustees will bring to the organisation.
We would also like to thank the valued Trustees who were demitting office – Alan Dobie, Emily Henderson, Mary-Ann Ochota, Chris Loynes, Raymond Simpson, Jim Sloane, Andrew Whitfield and Sheila Wren.
We look forward to welcoming newly elected, re-elected, current and co-opted Trustees to the next Board meeting in mid December.
