Marathon runners raise over £11k for Trust
Huge thanks to our magnificent seven marathon runners who not only completed the 2025 TCS London Marathon, but also raised money to help protect wild places.
Despite being one of the hottest London Marathons ever, this year’s event broke a Guinness World Record for the largest number of finishers. Of the 56,640 participants who crossed the finish line, three quarters were running to raise money for a charity - including seven superstars who raised funds for the John Muir Trust.
Sums raised by our runners ranged from £1,000 up to £2,520 raised by Isla Monteith, bringing the combined total to £11,198 at the time of writing.
Isla Monteith (pictured at the top and below) said it was such an amazing experience to be part of: “I felt very proud to be running in my John Muir Trust vest, although it did mainly get covered up by my hydration vest, which was essential as it was a hot day.
“I ran through every single water shower on course, took on ice and extra water, kept the pacing at start sensible and came away with a PB of 4.30.11. I blame the 11 seconds on stopping to kiss my husband!”
Carlo Sabia (pictured below) agreed that it was a fantastic day out and was incredibly well supported with an amazing atmosphere. “Seeing everyone come together in London is an amazing sight.
“I finished with a time of 3hr 43minutes and given the heat on the day I was really pleased with. The last four miles were pretty torturous, but I managed to get there!"
Huge thanks to all seven runners. Running with Isla and Carlo were Paulo Lorena, Madeline Hill, Christine Viola, Jenny Miller and Heather Valentino.
