Elections to the Scottish Parliament will be held on Thursday 5 May 2016. You will be voting to elect Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs) to represent your views and make decisions in the Scottish Parliament on a wide range of issues that include the environment. What will this mean for the future of wild land in Scotland?
To what extent do your candidates understand that wild land is important beyond spectacular scenery and as a home for wildlife, but also for the natural resources and services that it supplies, and the wider economic benefits that protecting and enhancing it can bring?
In the run-up to the election look out for opportunities in your local area to quiz your candidates on how their proposed policies will impact on wild land and the priority they think it should be given. Many communities will be holding special meetings ("hustings") where you have a chance to ask questions of the candidates standing for the various political parties.
We are sure you will already have some ideas about what to ask but if you need a few prompts take a look at our suggested questions in the download below. If you can't get to any hustings you could always use these questions if candidates are canvassing locally and knock on your door!
If you get a chance to ask a question please let us know what response you get. Email Mel Nicoll, Campaigns Co-ordinator
