Trust's Glenridding Common land manager passes Bob Graham record pacing baton to his son
There’s a lovely story emerging from the weekend involving the Trust’s Glenridding Common land manager Pete Barron.
36 years ago, Pete was one of the pacers for Billy Bland’s record setting Bob Graham round – covering a large part of the fell topping route with Billy.
This past weekend, not only did Pete and Billy get up onto the fells to support international mountain running champion Kilian Jornet as he reduced the record by an hour, but Pete’s son Martin was one of Kilian’s pacers on this attempt. Well done father and son.
