Trustee call

Our Trustees help to shape the work of the Trust, and contribute their skills and knowledge to areas of work from conservation and lobbying government to financial management.

The Board of Trustees needs a wide range of skills, including natural heritage and ecology; land management (incl. agricultural land); outdoor education; fundraising community engagement; marketing; planning procedures and regulations. In particular we welcome applications from women, as well as Members from all age groups and ethnic backgrounds around the UK.

Five Trustee places have become vacant on our Board in 2024. We’re looking for new Trustees who share our values and will bring fresh ideas to keep us relevant and influential as we work towards our new strategic plan that will take us through to 2026.

We’d like Members to nominate and vote for candidates from diverse backgrounds. Any eligible Member is welcome to stand. Successful candidates will be announced at the AGM in the autumn. We look forward to seeing you there, or at one of our Members’ Gatherings.

  • To enable more Members to apply to be a candidate for election to the Board of Trustees, the deadline for the delivery of nominations has been extended to noon on Friday 10 May 2024.)
  • If you have any questions about the Trustee nominations process, please email our Membership Manager, James Waldie.
