All welcome to join us for a day – or a week – of practical conservation work that will help ensure the long-term protection of land under our care at Skye.


Dates

  • Wednesday 12 August (9am – 4.30pm)
    Remove Sitka spruce seedlings 
  • Thursday 13 August (9am – 4pm)
    Camasunary beach clean
  • Friday 14 August (9am – 4.30pm) 
    Remove Sitka spruce seedlings at our peatland restoration site
  • Saturday 15 August (9am – 4.30pm)
    Remove a fence at the Strathaird roadside and disposal at Strathaird Farm.
  • Saturday 15 August (7.30pm to 9pm)
    Join us to hear an evening talk about the work of the Trust on Skye, over a cup of tea or coffee.
  • Monday 17 August (9am – 4.30pm)
    Removing Sitka spruce seedlings and mapping invasive non-native species
  • Tuesday 18 August (9am – 4.30pm)
    Removing Sitka spruce seedlings and mapping invasive non-native species

Note: The proposed tasks may change if the weather isn't favourable.

What to expect

Find out more about the tasks involved here and remember to bring packed lunch/snack, waterproofs, warm clothes and good sturdy shoes/boots and gloves. Instructions and equipment will be provided.

If you wish to come along for all or some of the dates listed, please fill out our volunteer form and we will be in touch with further details. We will then send further information 2 - 3 days ahead of volunteering days.
