For own-place entries there's no minimum sponsorship requirement and every pound you raise helps to protect, enhance and connect people with wild places – so why not set yourself a challenge?
John Muir Way Ultra-marathon – 30 March 2019
50km of the John Muir Way from Port Seton to Dunbar provides flat rural landscapes, coastal views and woodland trails - the perfect setting for any John Muir Trust supporter with ultra-running tendencies. Virgin London Marathon – 28 April 2019
Each year, we have a small number of ‘golden bond’ places for the capital’s marathon run. You need to raise a minimum of £1,000 and be fit for the job. Our spaces for 2019 have already been allocated, but you can find out more about our 2018 marathon runners, and how to apply in future here.

The Great Glencoe Challenge – July 2019
“Scotland’s toughest trekathon”; this 26.2 mile hike through the iconic scenery of Glencoe to the foot of Ben Nevis will really test your mettle. A great event for teams, why not gather some friends or colleagues and complete the challenge together? Find out more or sign-up here.
The Great Scottish Swim – August 2019
If swimming’s your thing, take the plunge in Loch Lomond and raise funds for the John Muir Trust – with a 250m, half mile, 1 mile, 2 mile, 5k and 10k, you can choose the event to suit your level. There's even an aquathlon event for those looking to take on both land and water. Sign up here.
Baxter's Loch Ness Marathon – 6 October 2019
With spectacular scenery and a fantastic atmostphere, this event is on the bucket list for many runners. A point-to-point route that follows the shore of Loch Ness and finishes in Inverness, it's been voted in the top 10 UK marathons by Runnner's World readers.
