Trust ‘highly commended’ in TGO Campaigner of the Year Award
Proud to be recognised by The Great Outdoors Awards five years in a row
For the fifth year running, the annual The Great Outdoors Awards recognised the John Muir Trust's outdoor campaigning work . Thanks to online voters around the UK, we are delighted to share "Highly Commended" with the British Mountaineering Council and congratulate Fix the Fells for winning TGO's Campaign or Campaigner of the Year .
We understand that those who nominated the Trust also cited our campaigning work for progressive deer management, our legal challenge to the Stronelairg wind farm, our sensitive management of properties in beautiful locations and the UK wide engagement of people with nature and active conservation work through of the John Muir Award.
Mel Nicoll, Campaigns Officer for the Trust said, “We are delighted to be highly commended once again for this prestigious accolade. Many thanks to all those who voted for us.”
Rob Bushby, John Muir Award Manager, added: “This year we reached the milestone of 325,000 people achieving their John Muir Award. It’s heartening that the Trust’s work to get hundreds of thousands of people involved with nature conservation at a local level has been recognised by readers of TGO magazine.”
